Stories from the New Guy: An Introduction

“Who’s the new guy over there?”

“I’m not really sure… Haven’t talked to him..”

“Do you even know his name?”

“I think it’s Julie…”

“That doesn’t even make sense.”

Nobody likes being the new guy, yet it’s something we all go through at least once in our lives. Whether we’re the new kid at school or the new guy at the office, we all deal have dealt with the struggles in trying to feel comfortable around the people we spend most of our time around. All we want is for people to know who we are and in return, get to know them a little better. We spend our days huddled in our own little corner wishing someone would just come and talk to us.

And then it happens. Someone comes up to you and greets you by your name. You think, “Someone FINALLY knows who I am!”

But you stare blankly in to their eyes as they await some sort of response. The only thing that goes through your mind is “Great, I have absolutely no idea what this person’s name is.”

Back to square one.

This is my journey as the “new guy” at Lebanon Ford. Follow me as I get to know the people I work with on a daily basis, and at the same time, you can get to know them a little bit as well. Every week I will be venturing out to different areas of the dealership to meet someone new. I’ll make my way through the showroom, back in to the wash bays, and all the way through the service drive until I know each and every person. I’ll be asking them questions that will not only help me get to know them on a business level, but on a personal level as well. I hope you will join me on my adventure to get to know everyone, because I know for sure I can’t do it on my own.

Here goes nothin’.
