Ford Salutes WWII Veterans With a Trip to DC

With less than a week until Veterans Day, The Ford Motor Company decided to honor local veterans in Dearborn Michigan (Ford’s Corporate Headquarters). According to PRNewswire, Ford stepped forward to fund an all expenses paid trip to the WWII Washington DC Memorial for a group of WWII veterans. Ford executives stated that the decision was simple, being that these selfless hero’s are ageing (many of which are in their late 80s and early 90s) and may not have the money or accommodations to see the memorial build in their honor.

The trip will include free airfare, a day at the memorial, and other events to honor the veterans. Through this kind gesture, Ford reminds all of us to reflect on the sacrifice that all American military veterans have given to help preserve what so many worked to build in this country. In the upcoming week I challenge all of you to follow Ford’s lead and go out of your way to thank a veteran for their service to this country.
