American Car Sales Indicate Economic Recovery

According to national figures, American new car and trucks sales will come in at over 12.8 million for 2011. This figure is such big news because the United States has not met this number since the economic recession in 2008. Experts suggest that the slow but steady economic recovery in the United States has allowed the U.S. to climb out of a car sales “hole” with sales rising from 10.4 million annually from 2008-2010 to 12.8 now, which brings us to rates nearly the same as before the recession.

Private and Public economic experts project American new car and truck sales to continue to increase another 10 percent for the upcoming year. While many readers including myself may not connect well with percentages and high numbers, it is relieving to see that indicators of our economic health like new car sales is up.
