Finding the right car dealership to meet your needs can be a frustrating task. One of the best ways toward identifying the cream of the crop is to read online reviews. Personally, reading reviews is one of the first things I do regardless If I’m purchasing a pair of shoes, furniture or a brand new TV. As we all know a vehicle is one of the biggest purchases you’ll make so it’s pivotal to ensure you’re choosing the best place to spend your time and money. Below I’ve compiled my list of essential review sites for the car shopper:
1.) Search Engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo)
Search engines are one of the easiest ways of scoping out a potential dealer. Now a days every dealership should have a Places or Local page (there will be some who won’t). Here you will find the reviews you seek. However, please take note there are dealerships out there who have hired companies to write fraudulent reviews. To learn how to identify a fraudulent review check out How One Dealership Employee Would Approach Car Shopping.
In my opinion, this is one of the best if not the best review site for the car shopper. It’s still fairly new but their Fraudulent Department does an incredible job when it comes to ensuring the consumer is presented with the most accurate and legitimate reviews. If a dealer is caught posted fraudulent reviews they will immediately be Blacklisted.
This one is a bit different considering Facebook got rid of their official “Reviews Tab” in favor of subtle “Recommendations” found on the right hand column. Though Facebook has Recommendations I would suggest shifting your focus more on the interactions occurring on their wall. What type of conversations are taking place, information being shared, etc. This will give you a better understanding of who/what this dealership is all about and how they treat people.
Yelp is one of the strongest most tight-knit communities you’ll find online. They also have one of the most comprehensive and innovative fraudulent teams out there which makes them an essential review site for those shopping for their next vehicle. What’s also neat is how helpful their staff is online. A couple of times this past year I was unsure of where to take my girlfriend for “date night” a quick tweet to @Yelpcincy (Alex Shebar) solved my problem with some excellent suggestions. Great staff. Great community members who ensure legitimate accurate reviews. All in all, great place to read dealership reviews.
While there are more review sites out there than you can count I tend to recommend sticking to the beaten path. Hope this helps and good luck!
