Ford Unveils the Crown Victoria Police Car’s Replacement

A couple months ago I reported on Ford’s announcement that the Crown Victoria Interceptor would no longer be produced for police forces around the country. As a follow up to that post, Ford has recently released the next generation of Ford branded cars, simply titled the Interceptor.

According to Ford the interceptor will be offered in a Sedan version which will be based on the Ford Taurus and a SUV version which will be based on the Explorer. The new police car is said to have opened up over 1,000 jobs at Ford plants and the car is reported to cost less than $24,000 per unit. Both of these facts are good news, being that the jobs will put Americans back to work and the low cost per car will save taxpayers money. And might I say, Ford has given these police cars a bit of style as well.
