5 Reasons To Consider The 2013 C-Max Hybrid [w/ video]

Ford’s release of the all-new 2013 C-Max Hybrid is the first of many full hybrids, plug-in hybrids and all electric vehicles set to come out over the next year. 2013 Ford C-Max Vs. Prius V

  1. The C-Max Hybrid earns 47 mpg in the city and 47 mpg highway (47 combined), while the Prius V earns 44 mpg city and 40 mpg highway (42 combined).
  2. The Ford’s 63.9 inch roof line gives the C-max 52.6 cubic feet of space behind the first row and 24.5 cubic feet behind the second row. It also offers more headroom in both the front and rear seats than the Prius V with 41.0 and 39.4 inches, versus 39.6 and 38.6 inches.
  3. The base model C-Max SE has a starting price tag of $25,995, (includes destination and delivery) which puts it at a cool $1,300 less than the Prius V.
  4. C-Max is equipped with a 2.0 liter I-4 and is assisted by a 35 kilowatt electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack to produce 188 total hp. The Prius V only produces 134 hp through its 1.8 liter I-4 which is assisted by a 60 kilowatt electric motor and a nickel metal hydride battery pack.
  5. The C-Max’s 13.5 gallon fuel take will deliver a 570-mile cruising range, 120 miles farther than the Prius V.
