So you’ve got a Ford vehicle and you want to get to supercharging it at Lebanon Ford’s new ROUSH Performance division. Do they make parts for your vehicle? How fast do you want your vehicle to go, exactly? We’ve put together this handy guide for you to figure out what exactly you can do to enhance your vehicle with ROUSH Performance parts.
Mustangs are obviously the big daddies of ROUSH Supercharging, as the company itself comes from a racing tradition, and holds the Mustang near and dear.
Available ROUSH parts for Mustang include superchargers, exhausts, cold air intakes, body kits, suspension parts, brakes, wheels, interior packages, grilles, graphics, service parts, drivetrains, crate engines, cooling and radiator systems, and engine components (try to say all those in a breath).
The supercharger has been covered in a previous post here.
Cold air intakes are aftermarket assemblies that are intended to bring colder air into the engine. The logic behind it is that colder air is denser than warm, and thus would contain more oxygen by volume, which would be a better combustion ratio. The more combustion you can create, the more work your engine is able to do.
Service parts are your everyday parts made to ROUSH specifications. Things like oil and air filters, lightbulbs, spark plugs and belts.
As far as the body kits, you can choose your level of customization. You can get anywhere from a complete body kit, down to just a chin spoiler or a splitter. You can also get front fascias, rear wings, hoods, hood scoops, rear and side valances, fenders and quarter window louvers.
Basically, the sky is the limit with your Mustang. You can make slight changes to it with parts you know you can trust, or you can do a complete overhaul and create the street-legal race car of your dreams.
